Every Other Weekend Custody Schedule
In an every-other-weekend schedule the kids live mainly with one parent and spend every second weekend — usually Friday and Saturday nights — with the other. It is one of the most familiar arrangements, and it is often extended with a midweek visit.

How it works
- Parent A has the school week and every other weekend.
- Parent B has the kids from Friday after school to Sunday evening every second weekend.
- Over two weeks that is twelve nights with Parent A and two with Parent B.

- Adding a Wednesday overnight (every other weekend plus midweek) moves the split to about 71/29.
- Extending the weekend to Monday morning school drop-off avoids a Sunday evening handoff.
- Holidays and summer breaks are often split more evenly than the school year.
